puppyPic Dog World Rescue is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization that provides pet adoption in Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC. We do have a limited driving range. Please check with Dog World Rescue prior to submitting an application to determine whether you are located within our adoption area.

Dog World Rescue's mission is to find permanent loving and nurturing homes in the Washington DC metropolitan area for dogs. We support a pro-active spay and neuter program to reduce the number of homeless animals in shelters who thru no fault of their own would have been euthanized. We advocate for the humane treatment of all animals and provide educational resources for rehabiliting dogs. Most of all we encourage and support responsible pet ownership thru community support and education.

Spike

Spike is such a sweet little pup who has been living on his own for quite a while. He was brought into a high kill shelter as a stray. Spike is skin and bones, just 15 lb, he has large patches of fur missing, scabs all over his body. He's such a sad little boy. Now that Spike has been rescued by Dog World, we will ensure that Spike gets everything he needs to be 100% again.
